Achieving Mental Vitality

We enhance our mental vitality by cultivating positive mental habits. A key practice in this regard is developing a repertoire of positive mindsets. Adopting positive mindsets can profoundly enhance our overall sense of well-being and coping abilities. In addition, the quality of our mindsets influences our physical health. For instance, optimists tend to live longer and suffer from fewer chronic illnesses than do pessimists.

Other positive mental habits include practicing mindfulness and developing strategies to protect our ability to focus. In addition, alternating periods of focused mental activity with periodic breaks also helps maintain mental vitality.
